Blog Post #4

1. 6 abiotic factors that affect a plants growth are air, water, space, soil, light and temperature. Macro and Micro organisms are biotic factors that affect a plants growth.
2. We know plants are in competition because there is limited space for them to grow so they have to fight to survive. Plants are in competition for space, nutrients, water, and sunlight, plants are always competing with other plants.
3. The winners are the plants who get the most nutrients and space and the losers don't get enough sunlight and eventually die. It is usually clear who "wins" and "loses" because the loser dies and the winner thrives and grows. Sometimes when both plants get equal sunlight, space and nutrients both will grow normally and there won't be a clear winner or loser.
4. Plants are also involved in the food chain because they are food to other organisms.
5. Plants are involved in succession on the garden because they are all sharing sunlight, nutrients, soil and space. Our garden is primary succession.
